Sydney Trains Timetable Amendment
As Members would be aware Sydney Trains are seeking to implement several recommendations from the recent ministerial report into January’s rail meltdown in efforts to improve network recovery capabilities following operational incidents.
Changes are slated to take effect from Monday 12th of March and will see the removal of services from the current timetable predominantly in the early morning, late evening and weekends.
Sydney Trains are proposing that the removal of these services will “free up” the required Crew to allow implementation of additional crew-related recommendations, namely a reduction in crew reliefs and relief locations and an increase to walking time between reliefs.
The introduction of these recommendations will require considerable amendments to the content of current Drivers’ diagrams. Sydney Trains have committed that all amendments to diagrams will be made under clause 3.6 of the Drivers Rostering and Working Arrangements and all applicable entitlements will be paid.
The Locomotive Division has reached an additional agreement with Sydney Trains ensuring that roster changes made via clause 3.6 result in the payment of all valid entitlements to all Drivers regardless of their position on their depot roster i.e. Master and Relief lines.
