Aurizon EA Negotiation Update No. 6
Your RTBU Locomotive Division negotiating team have continued to meet with Aurizon for Enterprise Agreement bargaining.
Over the last two weeks, your team has been seeking feedback on previously tabled clauses which Aurizon had placed in the “Parking Lot”.
Discussions focused on Aurizon’s feedback to those proposed clauses, with feedback being tabled as Options 1, 2 and 3.
This is a novel approach to negotiating an Enterprise Agreement and one that we have not seen before. The proposed “options” will take a great deal of time to compare and consider.
Your RTBU Locomotive Division negotiating team will meet next Tuesday and Wednesday to work through these options so we can provide our feedback, and Member’s views, to Aurizon.
We are also proposing to hold some “TEAMS” RTBU member teleconferences to further advise and receive feedback on the proposals tabled from members. Please check your personal email accounts for an invite to attend these meetings next week.
Please take the time to join one of the teleconferences as we value your input and feedback as membership engagement is fundamental in achieving a member owned and supported Enterprise Agreement.
Members were advised of recent discussions around a request to possibly roll the DP Allowance into the base rate of pay. This matter has been considered and will not be continued as an option at this time as it may not achieve any benefit for members.
We are now working through a clause status to provide a detailed response to Aurizon and highlight points that require further discussion and negotiation.
Members will continue to be advised as negotiations progress. If you have any questions, please contact your local rep or your Locomotive Division Organiser via mobile or email.
