Western Line services miss on-time running targets
New statistics have revealed that Western Line services haven’t met their monthly on-time running targets at all this year.
Many Western Line services were delayed and cancelled this year, particularly at peak periods where commuters report having been so chaotic that they haven’t been able to breathe.
Although there have been more services, they’ve been shoddily run with drivers having to skip scheduled stops and switch platforms with little to no notice.
“There are a lot of factors which affect train performance and drivers and staff are forced to deal with the brunt of commuter frustrations when delays happen,” said RTBU NSW Loco Division Secretary, Bob Hayden.
“It’s pretty clear to me that the figures point to a rail system management failure from Sydney Trains. If they weren’t so busy flinging millions of dollars at their Metro projects, perhaps they could finally deal with serious issues on the network.”
