Sydney Trains Drivers Taskforce Update – March 2019
The Locomotive Division would like to advise Members that following last week’s Drivers Issues Taskforce final agreement has been reached and correspondence exchanged regarding the outstanding issues of:
Clarifying the application of liftup/layback – Drivers on relief lines will be able to claim lift up/lay back payments for altered working back to the schedule book. This has been implemented from 3 March 2019.
Clarifying the application of the overtime bonus – All approved leave, excluding sick and carers leave, will count towards the Drivers Overtime Bonus. This has been implemented from the current overtime bonus cycle.
Diagram Numbers for SBY jobs in the Master Roster – All SBY jobs contained within each Depot’s Master Roster will be provided with a Diagram Number and feature in the printed published schedule book to allow claims of liftup/layback when these jobs are re-rostered. This new process will be adopted with the introduction of the April timetable.
In addition to these issues the Taskforce has agreed to begin a trial reimplementation of the Driver Support Program to assist the support and development of our new Drivers. The proposed trial is to focus on Central and Sector 1 and, if successful, will be rolled out to the broader Sydney Trains network.
The Locomotive Division would also like to encourage Members to continue utilising the Payroll Register when they experience payroll issues as your Depot Representatives will continue to meet regularly with management to address and resolve these problems.
Your Union will continue to engage Sydney Trains management through this Taskforce to improve the working lives of members.
Should Members have any questions or suggestions regarding Taskforce initiatives please contact your local delegate.
