Railtrain EA Update
RTBU Members have been made aware that Railtrain Pty Ltd has ceased as a legal entity and has become Railtrain Services Pty Ltd (RTS) and RMC Rail Services Pty Ltd (RMC).
This means that the national Railtrain Enterprise Agreement is no longer being negotiated. However, it will remain the industrial instrument that covers RTBU Members working for Railtrain until new agreements have been negotiated, voted on and ratified by the FWC.
Currently there are two Enterprise Agreements being negotiated by the RTBU:
- Rail Operations Queensland Enterprise Agreement 2019
- Hunter Port Services Enterprise Agreement 2019
RTS and RMC have issued NERR’s (Notice of Employee Representational Rights) for:
- Rail Operations Victoria Enterprise Agreement 2019
- Rail Operations South Australia Enterprise Agreement 2019
- RMC Signalling and Electrical Pty Ltd QLD/NSW/SA/WA/ACT Enterprise Agreement 2019
RTS have also signalled their intent to begin negotiations for a Rail Operations Enterprise Agreement in NSW in the future.
Rail Operations EA’s will cover Drivers, Second People, Shunters and Terminal Operators, Hunter Port Services EA will cover Roll-By Observers only and the RMC EA will cover Track Workers.
At this stage it is important that RTBU Members understand that they are still covered by the Railtrain PTY LTD SA/VIC/TAS/ACT/NSW/QLD/NT Enterprise Agreement 2013. This will be the case until a new Enterprise Agreement has been negotiated that will cover you.
