QUBE update
EA Negotiations
On Friday 15 November 2024, your RTBU Officials attended a supervised conference before Deputy President Saunders at Newcastle with QUBE Management.
At this high-level meeting, a pay/general/global terms offer was provisionally agreed as suitable to be considered by bargaining delegates. An offer cannot be agreed until it is endorsed formally through the workforce through your delegates.
Last Monday and Tuesday meetings were held with your Delegates, who then sought broader feedback from the workforce. Based on the feedback received, your Delegates and Union have rejected the proposal, primarily as it did not represent fair compensation in the circumstances.
Thank you to those who provided feedback. Delegates provided your feedback about what needs to be improved in the offer to us, and we have since passed this onto QUBE. We understand QUBE is not willing to make any further improvements to the offer.
Intractable Bargaining
In the meantime, we are still awaiting a decision for the Fair Work Commission to make a determination on our Intractable Bargaining Application, which should be very soon. If the Application is successful the Commission will determine what are suitable pay increases.
Your Union remains committed to taking the fight to QUBE, securing pay rises despite QUBE, and will never back down to overt threats of delay or attempts at frustration.
