PN Coal – Shift length dispute
After months of discussion and verbal commitments from local management, PN have recently written advising “Pacific National has reviewed clause C9.1(a)(iii) of the Pacific National NSW Bulk Rail Enterprise Agreement 2018, and do not agree with your proposed interpretation that the 9 hour limit applies to all shifts after the initial two shifts worked with a second person”
The RTBU believe it is very clear that after a driver works two shifts with a second person then the shift limit is 9 hours until the employee has a rostered day off. It should not return to 11 hour shifts after working the third shift. The matter has now been placed in formal dispute and will be dealt with accordingly. We will keep you posted.
