NOTICE OF REPRESENTATIONAL RIGHTS (NERR) ISSUED

Bargaining Commences

Pacific National has now issued the Notice of Employee Representational Rights (NERR), formally commencing bargaining for the 2027 replacement agreement following a lengthy delay caused by internal company issues.

Preliminary meetings have been held at an executive level to establish bargaining logistics. Unfortunately, these meetings have been less productive than ideal as PN seeks to impose restrictions on delegate release and additional hurdles around confirming attendance. The Company has also suggested that face-to-face bargaining may be restricted to video meetings unless the Union agrees to financially subsidise employee costs relating to the bargain.

The RTBU has offered the use of our meeting rooms for bargaining, which we consider a more than reasonable solution.

We have written to Pacific National to clarify our position and remain hopeful the Company will reconsider and agree to reasonable, practical arrangements that meet the new bargaining requirements without disadvantaging delegates or members.

Our Team

The table below contains the names of your depot representatives. Unfortunately, due to current elections, restructures and other events, some positions remain vacant.

The Bargaining Team will work together to ensure members at depots without a current delegate remain informed and represented throughout bargaining. We remain hopeful these vacancies can be filled as soon as possible.

If you are from an affected depot, we want to hear from you. Vacant positions are identified as “Act” in the table below and contain the name of delegates from other areas currently covering.

Bargaining Delegates will be supported by RTBU Officials Farren Campbell, Alice Watt, and Greg Cameron.

Delegate Training

Now the NERR has been issued we have requested PN make delegates available so as to fit in training sessions next to negotiation days. We are hopeful we can confirm times and dates soon.

Log of Claims and Communications

To ensure we capture all member concerns, we will shortly issue a further survey. This will clarify matters raised in the previous survey and give members who missed the first survey, or have recently joined, an opportunity to have their say. Stay posted!

Personal Details

As bargaining commences, it is critical that your details are up to date with the RTBU. Your employer, work location and address must be correct so you receive our communications and, importantly, remain eligible to participate in formal votes throughout bargaining.

If your RTBU details do not match Pacific National’s records, you may not be eligible to vote.

Depot Communication

We are looking for a volunteer from each depot to help establish and maintain effective local communication channels throughout bargaining.

Are you working in NSW but have an interstate home base, or have you recently transferred from another State?

If you are an RTBU member in another State, you need to transfer your membership to the NSW Branch.

If you are a member of another union, you will need to join the NSW RTBU, as other unions do not have coverage of this Agreement.
