Newsflash: 1Rail – Leave Deduction Dispute

As previously reported your RTBU Locomotive Division has been in discussion with One Rail Management and HR over how they are currently deducting Annual Leave. Management admitted that, without consultation, they made the change late last year after rostering staff questioned the method of deduction. 

Several meetings have since taken place, and as part of those meetings  delegates and officials have proposed several alternative proposals to compromise and resolve the matter, however 1Rail have rejected all proposals  and continue with their view that all annual leave should be deducted at thirty eight hours a week regardless of how many hours you are rostered for in that roster period. 

To resolve the matter the Parties have now agreed to have the matter resolved in  the Fair Work Commission. It has been scheduled for an initial conciliation meeting on Wednesday 31^st March.
