Dear members,

Welcome to this special edition of the Loco Express: COVID-19 edition.  Given the current situation is changing so quickly, with sometimes differing messages coming out of the various levels of government, staying abreast of the latest information can be difficult. Below is a compilation of all the information we have on the situation so far including freight train crew information and updates from Sydney and NSW Trains.

The RTBU is in regular contact with the government and health officials, as well as our different employers. We are doing everything we can to ensure they’re putting your health and safety first. We’ll continue to keep you updated on any information that comes out of those talks via our regular communications channels.

Given the difficult circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, members can feel proud that even in these ever changing periods that affect both the freight and passenger sectors you continue to perform your essential tasks that keep this nation moving.

Your dedication to keep the steel wheels turning with safety as a paramount is a testament to the professionalism that Locomotive Division Members bring as a result of your commitments to this industry.
