Government must fix the Hawkesbury River bridge
Reports that the rail bridge connecting Sydney to the Central Coast needs urgent repairs have shocked train crew and drivers.
RTBU NSW State Secretary Alex Claassens told the media:
“The NSW Government must immediately fix the Hawkesbury River bridge before a serious incident occurs.
“It’s simply beyond belief that the Government has known about the danger for two years and has not yet done anything about it.
“Train drivers and crew are understandably very nervous about driving across a crumbling bridge and putting their own lives and the lives of their passengers at risk.
“Safety should always come first and train crew are calling on the NSW Government to repair the bridge without further delay.”
