Google reveals the busiest transit lines around the world
Google Maps is developing a new app called ‘transit crowdedness predictions’ which will allow you to plan for overcrowding on your journey in over 200 cities around the world.
By analysing peak hour data in the last nine months, Google Maps has been able to predict how crowded any journey will be. They even have a list of the most overcrowded transit lines ranging from Buenos Aires to New York.
“There aren’t any Australian lines on the list of the world’s most congested, but that would be cold comfort for NSW commuters who are forced onto overcrowded services daily as a result of a lack of government foresight and investment in heavy rail,” said RTBU Loco Division Secretary Bob Hayden.
