Farewell John Lyons

The RTBU would like to pass on its condolences to the family of Hornsby ETR driver John Lyons. John tragically passed away after a traffic accident on Sunday October 3 while travelling home from work after his shift.

John was new to the industry and was looking forward to a long career as a train driver. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a funny yet conscientious man who enjoyed the comical moments in life. I had the pleasure of spending time with John during the driver training program. It was a great experience with plenty of laughs.

The RTBU recognises John’s membership of and contribution to the union. May he rest in peace. Vale John Lyons.
