Eveleigh driver trainer donates time to support great cause

When Eveleigh Sub Division member and Driver Trainer, Gary Pontifex, is not fighting fires with the RFS in his spare time, he is out there supporting charities. One charity in particular that Gary is passionate about supporting is the annual Bandaged Bear Day Appeal which raises money for sick kids.

This year was no exception and once Gary gained permission from management he was able to run a fundraiser BBQ for Bandaged Bear Day at Central Station on the 23rd of March.

With the support and assistance from fellow members, workmates and members of the public, Gary was successful in raising a huge $7294.90 on the day.

But Gary’s good work doesn’t end there. At times Gary, along with his comrades within the Eveleigh social club, is there to offer a helping hand to those members within our sub division who have fallen upon unfortunate times.
