Visit the Canterbury Bankstown mayor considers legal challenge to metro project

The mayor of the City of Canterbury Bankstown says the council should consider legal action to prevent the conversion of the Bankstown rail line into a metro-style rail service, arguing the project will deliver costs but no benefits to the area.
The council has long argued the metro project, which will require the closure of the Bankstown Line for six months early next decade, should also be used to upgrade the Bankstown town centre, by sinking the rail line below ground.
