Aurizon Bulk and Containerised Freight EA update: No. 11
RTBU Members are advised that your EA Negotiating Team met with Aurizon Management on the 14th and 15th of November in the RTBU Newcastle Office.
Whilst the first day didn’t see much progress , the second day was more productive and saw the EA Team getting closer to a fair and reasonable position for RTBU Aurizon Bulk & Containerised Freight Members based in New South Wales & Victoria.
Negotiation points included:
- Rostering
Forward moving rostering
Master Roster Changes
Member Consultation and Contribution
Clear delineation between Forecast and Blank line Working
- Representative Consultative Committee
RTBU Delegates to be part of a National Consult Committee
Meeting in Person and online throughout the year
All depots represented.
- Home Base Locations
To be clearly nominated in the EA
Discussions continuing
- Workplace Health and Safety
WHS Committees
Composition thereof
Inclusion of HSR’s
- Rostered Days Off
Penalties to be applied to time worked into RDO.
Those penalties are in discussion.
- DOO Appendix
Discussion around DOO working.
Outcome: Wording remains unchanged
- Individual Flexibility Agreement Wording
Aurizon challenged on multiple changes to the IFA Clause
Robust discussion continues.
IFAs cannot be a fallback to circumvent the EA.
- Temporary Transfer Clause
Concerns from the RTBU about Driver qualifications, from one Depot to another
Concerns around ATO implications with the Temp Transfer payment
- Stand Down
RTBU concerns around proper Consultation with the Union if a member is stood down.
- Remuneration
Current rates of pay within the common law contracts contain a % in lieu of Public Holidays & Annual leave loading.
Rates proposed within the EA will be excluding Public Holidays & Annual leave loading and payment will be made when a Public Holiday is worked and when annual leave is taken.
Pay will be finalised once an In-Principal Agreement has been reached.
- Terminal Operators
Aurizon is persisting in changing the terminology to “Freight Operator” – discussion still being held.
Negotiating a higher pay rate for Terminal Operator Trainer.
