Dear members,

Over the last few weeks our Aurizon Coal Locomotive Division delegates will be holding meetings with members throughout Aurizon depots, as negotiations with management have broken down. I encourage all Aurizon members to attend these meetings, as it’s incredibly important right now to discuss what are next steps are and have your say.

The Division:

• Has also just finished a short Southern region Depot Tour,
• Will be kicking off a full Southern/Western Depot Tour during the month of August,
• Have this week started a NIF (New InterCity Fleet) depot tour to update members on the progress on the NIF, and
• Are continuing to attend Sydney Trains depot meetings with Penrith this week and Hornsby next week.

Members are encouraged to keep an eye out for information on the above meetings to confirm meeting dates and locations.

In  further good news it is pleasing to be able to advise members that the Divisions membership numbers are continuing to grow with last month being the 11th straight month of continuous membership growth with membership figures being in excess of 3600 across both the passenger and freight sectors. Well done to all Delegates and Organisers for the focus being placed on building unity and strength in the Division.

I’m also proud to see our Locomotive Division delegates getting active in their workplace at Sydney Trains, where they’ve taken initiative to stand up for expecting mothers’ in the driving ranks.

As a small token to represent the Locomotive pride, honour and unity that we all share, the Divisional Council decided to create Locomotive Division Member Badges. These badges, which you can view in this newsletter, will be distributed in workplaces via your local delegate or organiser in coming weeks.
