New Intercity Fleet: Trish Doyle proves Constance is out of touch

NSW Member for Blue Mountains, Trish Doyle, lambasted the current Transport Minister in Parliament last Thursday after she organised and collected a 12,000 signature petition to protest against the current Government’s decision to build the New Intercity Fleet in South Korea, adopt Driver Only Operation and send 2.3 billion dollars (and rising) abroad.

NSW Branch Secretary, Alex Claassens and Locomotive Division Delegates attended Parliament in support of Trish, Locomotive Division Members and the commuters of NSW.

Loco Express can report first hand, the Transport Minister treated Trish and the signatories with utter contempt, smirking and laughing throughout the entire speech.

This Transport Minister’s contemptuous behaviour, in conjunction with his vision and plans for driverless trains, proves this Minister is out of touch with the working class and the taxpaying commuters of NSW.

This Transport Ministers high risk, unsafe and hazardous work methodology of Driver Only Operation (DOO) on the New InterCity Fleet, again proves your safety is a distant second to this Transport Ministers cost saving practises.

The current Transport Minister puts you, our families and friends at risk. He’s got to go!!
