Queen’s Birthday roster win

Over 100 workers at the North Sydney & Hornsby Depots faced substantial loss of income as a result of RailCorp’s proposed decision to roster them all ‘off’ over the recent Queen’s Birthday long weekend due to planned track work. RailCorp was attempting once again to reduce wage costs.

The RTBU issued a Notice of Dispute and RailCorp subsequently agreed to re-roster the affected staff back onto the agreed public holiday ratios.

This is the second time RailCorp has attempted to override or ignore the Drivers Rostering & Working Arrangements, which is quite specific in regards to the cancellation of diagrams for track work purposes.
