PN Intermodal Outsourced Projects Enterprise Agreement Update: Negotiations have FAILED again!
Negotiations have FAILED again!
Yesterday, your Delegates along with RTBU Officials attended an EA meeting at the Port Kembla Office with Pacific National.
During this meeting, your negotiating team put to Pacific National an offer to of 5% over the term of the agreement along with a $10,000 “sign on” bonus. Pacific National outright rejected this offer and replied that all they could offer is the same 3.5% that has already been offered. Pacific National did state that the 3.5% could be split up differently than is currently on the table, however the 0% from 1st July 2020 to 31st December 2020 is non-negotiable.
Unanimously, you have spoken, and we have now lodged the following.
- Unlimited timeframe for an Overtime Ban starting at 6am on Thursday 3 December 2020, and
- A periodic ban on Piloting Duties starting at 6am on Thursday 3 December 2020 until 11:59pm on Thursday 24 December, and
- A periodic ban on the Unloading of Limestone starting at 6am on Thursday 3 December 2020 until 11:59pm on Thursday 24 December 2020
- A 24 hour work stoppage commencing 6am on Thursday 3 December 2020
As you are aware, the Federal Court made orders in relation to the dumping of hot metal for the 24 hour work stoppage you took on 19 November 2020. We have given Pacific National an undertaking to act in accordance with the Court’s orders for the 24 work stoppage on 3 December 2020. This means where Pacific National has formed the opinion, in good faith and on reasonable grounds, that circumstances have arisen that will mean there will be the dumping of hot metal, they may “call out” a suitable qualified employee so as to avoid the dumping of hot metal.
Got questions?
