GWA – FLACH EA Round one!
On Tuesday the 6th of November Your RTBU Locomotive Division Negotiating Team exchanged log of claims with GWA.
The GWA log of claims was mostly what was expected with their big ticket items being a revision of the personal leave provision and their want to remove the aggregate wage and revert back to the old days of penalty rates for weekend work.
Our log of claims was extensive and expressed members desire to retain their conditions and improve on areas they feel are currently inadequate.
On Wednesday the 7th of November Your Negotiating Team and GWA sat down to begin formal negotiations in regards to each other’s log of claims.
We had some robust discussion and made it clear that members won’t settle for anything less than an industry leading enterprise agreement.
We (Your Negotiating Team) believe it was a good first meeting and have left GWA with some thinking to do in regards to how they can meet the standard acceptable for members. We are confident in our position and members can be assured we will fight every step of the way to get the best agreement possible.
The next meeting is in a fortnight’s time on the 20th and 21st of November. Be sure to check your inbox for the next Newsflash update.
