RMTU Letter of Support to Pacific National members

The RMTU New Zealand have sent the RTBU Locomotive Division an email in solidarity with our members fighting for a fair Agreement with Pacific National. Wayne Butson, the General Secretary of the RMTU wrote to Bob Hayden, “There appears to be something in the drinking water at the moment which is emboldening employers into thinking that 2017 is the age of concession bargaining. We are encountering it here with Transdev Auckland and Wellington. We, as are you, standing strong in stating that 2017 is a year of advancing the interest of workers and organised labour and we will not be trading away our hard fought for gains over many years.“

And the letter reads:

“We fully support and pledge our eternal solidarity to you in your struggle to retain your hard won terms and conditions that are the corner stone of members’ financial support base for their family”
