US train crew share concerns over recording devices

The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (our comrades in the United States) has written to the Federal Railroad Administration voicing its concerns about a recording device being fitted into trains.

This is the same ‘GE Trip Optimiser’ that Aurizon is proposing to fit in its locos.

The Loco Division has serious concerns about the devices and their impact on worker safety, which are clearly also shared by our US counterparts.

A national meeting with Aurizon to discuss members’ concerns is scheduled for 26^th Feb.
