UPDATE: ‘Welfare calls’ stopped
After members and the RTBU raised concerns about management making ‘welfare calls’ to staff on sick leave, the phones have stopped ringing.
The RTBU placed the matter into dispute owing to the lack of required consultation when changing policy and/or procedure.
The outcome of this dispute is that the so-called ‘welfare calls’ will no longer occur. The additional requirement to complete an ‘absence report form’ has also been withdrawn.
The RTBU requests members be vigilant and advise head office should there be any further attempt to reinstitute these changes.
