Update: PN NSW Coal and Bulk EA Negotiations
As reported last week we continued to negotiate with Pacific National this week on the 15th and 16th November in an effort to resolve the remaining outstanding issues between the parties. Significant progress was made, with both parties commiting to trying to resolve the outstanding issues, conscious of the 3 week time frame we have set.
In summary we have been able to achieve the following:
- Group A – Common Issues Group: only a critical few issues left outstanding, including Scope and Contract of Employment,
- Group B – Bulk Group: effectively resolved all outstanding issues, including the retention of the 130 RDO’s and change to a 152 hour Duty Cycle; and
- Group C – Coal Group: only a few remaining issues to work through for resolution, with current “no lift up” and signing on prior to an RDO, weekend and Annual leave protections being retained.Discussions are scheduled to continue for a further two days next week on the 22nd and 23rd of November and should it be required, we have scheduled a conference in the Fair Work Commission to work through any outstanding matters on 24 November 2017.Your Negotiating Team is committed to protecting all current conditions or employment, clear up any interpretation issues with current wording and wherever possible improve current conditions.Whilst we may have reached in-principle agreement on a number of items, any final agreement will always be subject to wording, the final full agreement and membership endorsement.
We continue to be hopeful that we will be able to resolve all outstanding issues next week and look forward to continued discussions with the Company.
If you have any questions about the negotiations, please contact your delegate or organiser.
