Union committee monitors RailCorp changes at Hornsby

RailCorp has recently proposed that Hornsby guards now be required to sign on at the car sheds rather than at Hornsby Station.

The move is due to occur in late July/August ahead of the October timetable change. Having everyone under the one roof is convenient for RailCorp, but the car shed facilities are already stretched and will be inadequate for another 150 people who will put further pressure on car spaces, lockers, showers, toilets, meal rooms and the shuttle buses that take staff to and from the station.

The RTBU has formed a joint committee to liaise with RailCorp during this process and will keep members informed.
