Trainee Drivers rosters in chaos

The recent restructure within Sydney Trains has resulted in rostering problems for trainee drivers.

Inconsistent practices since the restructure have adversely affected trainee drivers and have forced the RTBU to dispute various breaches of the Drivers Rostering and Working Arrangements.

Also forming part of this dispute was the fact that mentor drivers and team leaders were rostered to train trainees, which is outside of their respective position description requirements.

As a result of this dispute, the RTBU will now regularly monitor trainee drivers rosters to ensure compliance, and mentor drivers and team leaders will only work within the constraints of their respective position descriptions.
