The BBQ is on the road
The trusty Loco Division BBQ is on the road again as part of the regional tour.
On Monday 24 August, the BBQ hit the road with Steve Wright, Mark Dickson and Bryan Williamson, leaving from Newcastle towards Taree where members from PN Intermodal, Aurzon Intermodal and CountryLink came along for a snag and to discuss with union reps concerns and ideas.
From there, the BBQ travelled to Acacia Ridge where PNQ, Aurizon, and QR members joined the crew for a discussion about the direction their companies are headed and the role the union can play.
After that it was onto Narrabri, Werris Creek and Muswellbrook. Many a sausage and a steak was consumed, many a tale told, and plans for the future discussed.
One of the tour highlights was when Peter Sawtell, a Countrylink Werris Creek driver jumped out of the Explorer to share stories of his 60 years on the job. Peter is 76 years of age.
Thanks to all the members who took the time to catch up with the tour crew and to share ideas on how we can improve our working conditions.
