Sydney Accommodation Change

The RTBU recently became aware that, owing to a Government decision to quarantine people for COVID 19 returning from overseas, the Travelodge was no longer available for Regional crew accommodation.

This short notice meant that an inspection of the chosen hotel, the Vibe, was required to be undertaken to ensure it met the required accommodation standards for crew. This inspection was undertaken by driver and operations representatives with the result that the rooms in the Vibe were found to be fit for purpose however, microwave ovens were not allocated to individual rooms which has now been resolved.

Regional crew will experience the same arrangements as the Travelodge with a whole floor allocated for their use which will exclude disturbance of rest, rooms will be rostered for day/night sleepers as per the Travelodge and travel arrangements will remain the same to Meeks Rd, Eveleigh etc. Crockery and cutlery are provided on request, tea and coffee making facilities are available and a small breakfast pack is made available for crew.

As this arrangement will continue for the foreseeable future, members are requested to advise their delegate or head office if any issues arise.
