Support for PN workers from UK comrades
The union for train drivers in the UK – ASLEF – has written to the Loco Division to express its solidarity with Pacific National workers during the current action against the company.
Mick Whelan, General Secretary of ASLEF, said in a letter address to Loco Division Secretary, Bob Hayden, that the issues facing PN workers are similar to those facing workers everywhere.
“The battles for better terms and conditions with quality time to spend with your family and decent accommodation when lodging, are universal for trains drivers across the world,” the letter reads.
“I know that with the strength and solidarity you have throughout your membership, you’ll achieve the improved conditions for your members that you are demanding.”
The Loco Division would like to thank ASLEF for its ongoing support.
