Secretary’s wrap

Another year is drawing to a close and I’d like to take the opportunity to wish you all a very merry Christmas on behalf of everyone here at the Loco Division.

The festive season can be a particularly busy time for many Loco members and I hope you will all have an opportunity to relax and spend quality time with your families and friends.

With Liberal governments at both the state and federal level it’s been a difficult year for workers and particularly difficult for transport workers.

We’ve had to deal with:

• The NSW government’s job cuts, privatisation agenda and bad planning decisions and unfortunately that’s going to continue into the new year.
• Both Public and Private sector employers seeking to constantly attack and undermine conditions, solidarity and job security.

I want to thank all of you for continuing to show solidarity and unity to your fellow members and stand strong in the face of these attacks. The Loco Executive and I look forward to continuing to work with all Delegates and Members again next year to protect jobs, rights and conditions.
