Say no to TPP on June 15
Join the protest against the TPP on Friday June 15th!
The Trans-Pacific Partnership was a trade deal originally involving Australia, US and 10 other Pacific Rim countries (TPP-12). It reduced our democratic rights while increasing the rights of global corporations.
After 6 years of community campaigning, the withdrawal of the US in 2017 killed off the original TPP-12. A rebranded TPP-11 without the US has emerged but it is still a bad deal. Some clauses have been suspended, but could be reinstated if the US re-joins the deal. The TPP-11 still increases corporate rights at the expense of people’s rights.
A parliamentary joint committee is meeting on Friday the 15th to consider this dodgy deal – let’s tell them no by getting along to the protest!
