QUBE update- intractable bargaining update

Post Declaration Negotiating Period Update 

 Following the Fair Work Commission’s intractable bargaining declaration and meetings last week, RTBU officials and delegates met again on Monday, 19 May 2025 with QUBE management and again these discussions have occurred on a without prejudice basis. 

The offer that was left with QUBE Management last week, it was rejected by QUBE Management yesterday. 

Following this rejection, negotiations stalled at effectively the first hurdle – backpay. 

We have heard it loud and clear that backpay must reflect the work that people have actually performed over the last three years and reflect pay rises missed on pay anniversaries, and we will not support a tokenistic one-off payment that falls short of what is fair. 

The post-declaration negotiation period concludes on 22 May 2025. 

The next meeting with QUBE management is scheduled for Wednesday 21 May 2025. We will continue to keep members updated as negotiations progress. 

In the event negotiations are not fruitful, we will press the Commission for a speedy timetable to make a fair Workplace Determination that will set pay and conditions for the next few years.
