QUBE Update- Intractable Bargaining
Last Thursday, 7 November 2024, the final day of hearing in the Intractable Bargaining proceedings before the Fair Work Commission was heard. At the conclusion of the hearing, Deputy President Wright reserved her decision and, at the Commission’s suggestion, the parties have agreed to meet a final time before that decision is handed down. This will be a high-level meeting on Friday 15 November 2024 assisted by Deputy President Saunders, and it will not delay the delivery of judgement.
QUBE employees will not be comforted by management’s actual submission to the Commission that they are entitled to delay your pay-rises as an industrial strategy. In circumstances where QUBE has not delayed increasing the dividend to shareholders by 13% in 2024 nor delayed the $4,000,000 paid to just one executive, delaying pay rises to hard working employees that actually service the contracts that keep the lights on is a troubling sign management have lost touch.
We will report back following Friday’s meeting, but your Union remains committed to taking the fight to QUBE, securing pay rises despite QUBE, and will never back down to overt threats of delay or attempts at frustration.
