QUBE – Not Having a Good Week!
1 – EA Vote goes down (again).
2 – QUBE loses their application to vary the 2015 and 2019 EA’s.
3 – Preparations for the Intractable Bargaining case are moving ahead.
1 – The latest EA vote – QUBE has yet again not passed on the exact results from the Enterprise Agreement vote that concluded on 24 April 2024, but we have been advised by members that it was voted down for the 4th time. It is often said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result. QUBE should realise their workforce will not accept an EA that seeks to rob them of entitlements.
2 – QUBE loses their application to vary the 2015 and 2019 Agreements – On 1 May 2024, the Fair Work Commission handed down its decision on QUBE’s application to vary the 2015 and 2019 Enterprise Agreements. We are pleased to advise that the Commission found in favour of RTBU members, dismissing QUBE’s application. Had QUBE’s variation application been successful, it would have effectively ruled out the underpayment case currently before the Federal Court. This is a huge win for members and the decision can be found here.
3 – Preparations for the Intractable Bargaining case is moving ahead – The intractable bargaining case before the Fair Work Commission is underway. The Loco Division’s legal team is currently working hard in preparation of the case.
There is also a petition being distributed by your Local Delegates. This petition is part of the Intractable Bargaining to show the Fair Work Commission that you will not accept QUBE’s inferior Enterprise Agreement. Make sure that you sign it and support the fight to get the Enterprise Agreement you all deserve. The more we stand united, the better the outcome.
All QUBE members should be incredibly proud of their efforts through this long and difficult process. Standing up for your rights against a shameless employer takes a lot of courage and you all have shown that in abundance.
