QUBE Members Still Standing United
Today marks the 8th day Members being locked out by an arrogant and deceitful employer, despite having reached in-principle agreement on a new EA on 26 June, 2023.
Members remain strong in the face of QUBE’s bad-faith tactics as management continue to hold Member’s Enterprise Agreement to ransom in an attempt to weasel out of systemic underpayments and enshrine their current wage theft practices in a new agreement.
The RTBU Locomotive Division has continued to get out and about, having held two more mass meetings in Dubbo and Junee this week. The solidarity on display was amazing as Members traveled far and wide to support their comrades in other depots across the state.
Less inspiring is the desperate and dangerous lengths QUBE are resorting to as they attempt to keep trains moving. The Locomotive Division has written to the Rail Regulator regarding QUBE’s conduct as the company continues to prioritise their bottom line over the rights of employees and the safety of the NSW public. This dispute has left no doubt, QUBE are rotten to the core.
QUBE Delegates will come together via video conference on Friday morning followed by an all-Member Town Hall Friday to discuss next steps in this dispute. Members are asked to check their emails for their invite. If you don’t receive an invite, ask your local Delegate, or send an email to Kevin Pryor (kpryor@rtbu-nsw.asn.au).
Members are also reminded to remain on the lookout for anything dodgy from QUBE. If you see anything unsafe, please contact the Locomotive Division as soon as possible and remember to record dates, times, locations and run numbers if possible!
Members will be updated as the dispute continues. If you have any questions, please contact your local delegate or RTBU Head Office.
