QUBE members Enterprise Agreement update

Your EA Delegates and QUBE Management will meet tomorrow, 25 October 2022, for our next EA
bargaining meeting. Following this meeting we will send out another Newsflash with the outcomes.

In other news, the RTBU Locomotive Division recently became aware that the Temporary Transfer
Allowance had not been increased as per the Enterprise Agreement. We immediately contacted the
Company asking why the increase had not taken effect as per the following EA Clause:

Clause 26. Temporary transfer.
(K) Employees who are temporarily transferred to a location which does not permit them to return to their home base daily shall have their accommodation organised and paid by the company and an living away allowance of $127.71 (Which will increase with the September CPI increase each year) will be paid as the daily meal allowance for each calendar day or part thereof from their home base.

It was our view that the following increases had not been paid. Our calculations assume the YTD Sept CPI is used.
Starting rate at approval = 127.71
Sept 2020 CPI adjustment comes into effect on 28/10/2020, new rate = 128.60
Sept 2021 CPI adjustment comes into effect on 27/10/2021, new rate = 132.46

We are pleased to advise that after continuing to press this matter despite inaction by the employer, QUBE has finally advised that the CPI increase had not occurred and committed to rectifying this error.

It is our understanding that all past and current members/employees since the start of this Enterprise Agreement have now been paid the retrospectively.
