QUBE Enterprise Agreement Update- 8 September
Yesterday, your RTBU Locomotive Division Negotiating Team returned to the Fair Work Commission for continued conciliation with QUBE management facilitated by Commissioner Crawford. This is the first meeting since 7 August 2023, and although it wasn’t overly productive, QUBE have committed to re-start negotiations with a date set for 26 September 2023.The negotiations will be assisted by the Fair Work Commission and are scheduled to occur fortnightly.
Both parties have agreed that any “Global Settlement” is now off the negotiation table. QUBE management have indicated they have some suggestions which may help resolve the outstanding wage dispute but were unwilling to elaborate before we meet on 26 September.
Your EA Delegates have agreed that we will not begin any further protected industrial action until after the 26 September meeting.
Remember, bargaining will become formally intractable in December, allowing the Commission to intervene and settle any outstanding clauses.
In the Variation Dispute, your Locomotive Division legal team are in the Fair Work Commission today to argue against QUBE’s proposed change the 2015 and 2019 Enterprise Agreements. This is an attempt by QUBE to stop the Federal Court underpayment claim. As we all know, QUBE will try anything to protect their wage theft practices.
Members will continue to receive regular updates as soon as developments occur.
