PN outsourced EBA
The RTBU has had its application for a protected industrial action ballot approved by the Fair Work Commission, following Pacific National’s refusal to negotiate a fair agreement for workers covered by the Intermodal Division Port Kembla Outsourced Projects.
Negotiations for a new EBA started in October 2013 and despite many attempts by members and the union to reach a fair agreement, the company’s refusal to budge means there is currently no conclusion in sight.
After the latest wage increase offer from the company, the RTBU held meetings with members to put to them the offer of 3% for the 1st year and 2.8% for year two and three of the agreement – an increase from the company’s previous offer of 3%, 2.5% and 2.5%.
The members rejected the offer, saying it doesn’t provide them with the pay and conditions they deserve, however have made it very clear they are willing to negotiate to reach a agreement that works for both parties
The Loco Division will keep members updated on the progress of the protected industrial action ballot. Stay tuned.
