PN cab fumes under investigation
Locomotive fumes, sanding particles and other materials are still finding their way into Pacific National cabs.
The problem is being caused by poor sealing around windows and doors and is especially bad on the 92 class locomotives.
We’re obviously very concerned about the impact of this on drivers and closely monitoring the situation.
We have been assured that while the investigation is underway, all but one train set has been fitted with a TT class on the lead in place of a 92 class.
Please speak to your delegate or RTBU Loco Division representative if you have any questions or concerns, and watch this space for further updates.
