PN auto layback issue
Auto laybacks at Pacific National have been causing problems for members for quite some time, and the union is still battling to resolve it.
During bargaining for the current agreement, the RTBU attempted to negotiate a local agreement at Adelaide and Port August that would allow for an auto layback between 2200-0600 to enable drivers to manage their fatigue.
Unfortunately this was met with resistance from the company and as a result, they (the company) wanted to continue to operate to the local agreement already in place.
Since the new agreement has been in force, members working to the EA are being criticised by management and branded as difficult.
The RTBU is currently attempting to resolve the issue with the company. Stay tuned for updates.
