Pacific National delusional on casuals
Pacific National is insistent that its move to introduce a casual workforce is not a problem for current workers.
The company has also refused to admit it is in dispute with the union. Even despite definitely being in dispute with the union.
The RTBU maintains that there is no need for casuals at this stage and that other forms of employment, such as permanent part-time, should be explored before going down the path of casuals. The recent wave of redundancies in the company make the move to casualisation even more concerning.
No agreement has yet been reached on the matter, which has forced the RTBU to write to the Fair Work Commission to request formal arbitration.
Tell us what you think
Let Pacific National know what you think of their plans to casualise by lodging a dispute notice! If you haven’t already done so, email the union (nswho@rtbu-nsw.asn.au) outlining your concerns and tell us why you want us to represent this matter. The more letters of concern we have, the stronger our case will be.
We’ll let you know when the Fair Work Commission advises us of the hearing dates.
