ONE RAIL AUSTRALIA – NEW COAL EA STRONGLY ENDORSED BY MEMBERS 

The EA Ballot outcome was announced this morning by Votecorp, the company conducting the Ballot. 

77% voted ‘yes’ out of the 94% of eligible workers who voted. 

This is a great result and demonstrates positive support for your EA delegates’ hard work over the past seven months. Thanks to RTBU Locomotive Division members’ commitment and unity, we secured a number of improvements to your conditions including the new 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off roster, which will see members working 26 shifts less a year. 

The new agreement sees a 7% wage increase in the first year of the agreement then 5% next year, 3% the following two years and a 2% sunset. 20% in total over the next 4 Years. 

Congratulations to all members, It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve finally got an enterprise agreement that will see members receive a much-needed pay increase, some significant improvements to the way work is rostered and strong protections for members going forward. 

The next step is lodgement and approval by the Fair Work Commission that normally takes a few weeks.
