No PN Bulk forced redundancies yet
The RTBU took Pacific National Bulk Rail to the Fair Work Commission last week following the company’s poor management of the redundancy process.
The RTBU was calling for voluntary redundancies to be opened up to all Pacific National Bulk Rail Depots along with Intermodal and Coal operations. The move would have allowed members from affected depots the opportunity to swap with those at depots not impacted who may wish to apply for voluntary redundancy.
While there was no recommendation issued by the Fair Work Commissioner, PN Bulk has since put a proposal to the RTBU to allow workers at “non-affected” depots the opportunity to take voluntary redundancy.
