Newsflash: QUBE EA update

On Wednesday, October 3 RTBU Locomotive Division delegates and officials met with QUBE Management at their head office in Minto to continue to negotiate your EA. During this meeting, QUBE Management highlighted some items in their log of claims that could reduce your pay and conditions. While nothing has been agreed to, these proposals are very concerning to your negotiation committee.

These items included:

• A reduction of 2 hours for the “Golden Weekend” with finish time being changed from 1600hrs to 1800hrs. This means that your weekend will start a lot later.
• A reduction of hours accrued for an Amex job. This means if your job is canceled then you’ll only accrue 6 hours towards your duty cycle, instead of the 7.6 in the current agreement.
• QUBE wants to remove the standalone payment of 7.6 hours you currently receive if your RDO falls on a public holiday.

To fight these outrageous claims from QUBE we need to be strong and united. Now is the time to join or ask your workmates to join the RTBU.

Next week, RTBU Locomotive Division officials will be touring to gather feedback to take back to the negotiation table when we next meet with QUBE management in November.
