Newcastle Retirement

The Newcastle Social Club recently held a retirement function at Club Macquarie to celebrate the careers of several long time members of the depot.

The event, held on September 7^th, was well attended by current and retired drivers with a good mix of young and old on hand to celebrate the occasion.

The retirees were also presented with certificates or plaques by the Locomotive Division Assistant Secretary, Ian Wyllie, in recognition of their continuous membership and support of the union throughout their careers.

The RTBU Locomotive Division would like to take this opportunity to wish the retirees Rodney Short, Bob Bain, Jimmy Taylor, Dave Budden, Wayne Gainsford and Denis Cotterill a long and happy retirement and formally thank them for their support.

Special thanks are also extended to the Newcastle Social club for organising this wonderful event.
