National Loco team discusses the hot topics

The National Loco Division met in late May to discuss a range of issues impacting Loco members across the country.

Hot topics on the agenda included declining cab standards and the ongoing issue of Aurizon’s in-cab recording plans.

With workers concerned about safety issues, like the ergonomics in cabs, the meeting moved a motion calling for the National Secretary to seek urgent action and coordination from the International Rail Unions to address the declining cab standards with the rail Industry.

In order to ensure the future growth of the Loco Division nationally, and to provide a framework for the direction of the division, it was also decided that a sub-committee made up of delegates Keith McMahon, Mark Supple, Wayne Hicks and Shayne Kummerfeld should meet regularly in discuss important national issues which can then be fed into state branches.
