Mobility trial (iPads) update

As previously reported, Sydney Trains has undertaken a review of TWP 100 and its associated mobile phone protocols and has now developed (in consultation with the RTBU) an Electronic Device Usage Policy which will cover usage parameters for the iPad within the drivers role.

This policy will be made available to crew via the SCD process. The plan from here is to roll out iPad training and issue devices to all drivers commencing early May 2016.

An EOI will be issued soon to drivers seeking trainers to deliver this training. The only outstanding issue remaining is the potential usage of the iPad outside of the crew cab with various risk assessments being undertaken to ascertain the viability of that usage.
