Life membership awarded to one of the legends of the tracks
A well-known face among the NSW rail community, Bob Proctor, was awarded with the Loco Division’s highest honour recently – life membership.
Bob Proctor, who worked in the rail industry for 39 years, was awarded the prestigious accolade for his unwavering commitment to NSW transport workers over the past decades.
Bob has held many positions within the union over the years, including South West Councillor delegate for the North West, and Divisional Vice President.
At the special presentation, Loco Division Secretary Bob Hayden said Bob Proctor was well known and highly respected among train crew, particularly for his meticulous dedication to quality training.
“Bob always stood up for standards in training. He was a real training guru,” Bob said.
“Anyone who has worked with Bob over the years also knows that he’s loyal like no one else. It was a sad day when he told us he was planning on moving on, but the Division is stronger as a result of having him with us for so long.”
Bob Proctor said receiving life membership was a great honour.
“When you think about all the others who have received life membership, I’m in very good company.”
The Loco Division would like to thank Bob Proctor for his years of service, friendship and dedication to the workers of NSW and wish him all the very best in retirement.
