‘Jammed in like sardines’ on Blue Mountains trains
The Blue Mountains Gazette has also picked up the story that Blue Mountains trains are so overcrowded they may deter visitors (see our previous post on Loco Express here).
Today’s edition has a double-page spread on the overcrowding issue, quoting a commuter who says it was “next to impossible” to find a seat and that she was “jammed in like sardines”.
It also quotes a tourism operator who says if something isn’t done about the overcrowding it will potentially “have a negative effect on tourism because the word would spread.”
